NameEasy ChatGPT App — Privacy Policy
Effective Date: May 12, 2026
This privacy policy applies specifically to the NameEasy ChatGPT App — a read-only baby-name discovery tool available within ChatGPT that lets users search Indian baby names.
The App does not handle user accounts, payments, shortlisting, or any write actions inside ChatGPT. It returns publicly available baby-name information from the NameEasy catalogue and deeplinks to the NameEasy platform (web and mobile apps) for shortlisting and the full product experience.
This policy specifically governs the ChatGPT App surface and is intended to be self-contained for that purpose.
What the App Does
| Tool | Function |
|---|---|
| Search Baby Names | Search NameEasy’s catalogue of tens of thousands of Indian baby names by religion, gender, rashi, meaning, themes, starting letter, syllable count, and deity association. Returns a small set of matching name cards with meaning, gender, Rashi, religion, and deity metadata. |
The App is read-only — it searches and displays information but does not execute bookings, process payments, create user accounts, modify any data on NameEasy, or send messages anywhere on behalf of users.
Data Collection
The NameEasy ChatGPT App does not collect, store, or retain any personally identifiable information (PII) about the user. Specifically:
- No user accounts or logins are created
- No cookies or tracking pixels are used
- No analytics, telemetry, or behavioural data tied to an individual is collected
- No advertising identifiers or device fingerprints are captured
- No email addresses, phone numbers, names, or payment information are collected
- No location data (GPS, IP-derived, or otherwise) is collected or used
Data Received from Users
The only data the App receives are the inputs provided by the user through ChatGPT in order to fulfil their request. These inputs are transient — used solely to query NameEasy’s backend in real time and not stored against any user identity after the response is returned.
Search Baby Names
- Religion (e.g., Hindu, Muslim, Sikh, Christian, Jain) — optional
- Gender (Boy, Girl, Unisex) — optional
- Rashi (Vedic Moon sign) — optional
- Meaning keywords (e.g., “brave”, “moon”, “wisdom”) — optional
- Starting letter or syllable count — optional
- Deity name (e.g., Krishna, Lakshmi) — optional
Data Returned in Responses
The App returns only baby-name and Rashi information from NameEasy’s publicly available catalogue:
- Search Baby Names — name (English and Devanagari), meaning, gender, religion, Rashi, deity association, and a deeplink URL to the corresponding page on
nameeasy.in.
The App does NOT return any of the following:
- User account information, session tokens, or authentication data
- Email addresses, phone numbers, names, or any PII about the requesting user
- Payment or billing information
- Internal database IDs, debug data, system metadata, or telemetry
- Request/trace/session identifiers or timestamps
- IP addresses, device information, or location data
- Past search history or any data from previous interactions
Third-Party APIs and Recipients
The App communicates exclusively with first-party NameEasy backend services hosted on Supabase. Only the search filters described above are transmitted from ChatGPT to NameEasy’s server. No user identifiers, device information, ChatGPT conversation context, or personal information beyond the items listed above is forwarded.
No third-party APIs, external analytics services, advertising networks, or data brokers are involved in serving requests from the ChatGPT App. The ChatGPT App backend does not invoke NameEasy’s web analytics (Mixpanel, GA4) or any of NameEasy’s mobile-app SDKs (Firebase, Crashlytics, etc.). Those services apply to the NameEasy website and mobile apps only.
When a user taps a deeplink to open a name’s detail page on nameeasy.in (or the NameEasy iOS/ Android app), they navigate to a separate surface with its own privacy terms. Such navigation is initiated by the user’s explicit tap inside ChatGPT.
Server Logging
NameEasy’s ChatGPT App backend runs on Supabase Edge Functions. The underlying platform records standard request metadata (such as timestamps, response status codes, and request paths) for operational purposes — rate limiting, abuse prevention, and uptime monitoring. NameEasy does not run application-level logging that records the arguments or responses of individual tool calls or any ChatGPT-provided identifier.
Platform-level request metadata is retained according to Supabase’s standard log-retention policies and is not used for profiling, advertising, marketing, or model training.
Data Retention
Each tool call is a stateless, real-time query. No search history, no result history, no user interactions, and no conversation context is stored or persisted against any user identity.
- Input data (search filters): discarded immediately after the response is returned. Not persisted.
- Platform request metadata: retained by Supabase according to its standard log-retention policies. As described above, this metadata does not contain the user’s tool-call arguments or responses.
- Aggregate usage statistics: retained indefinitely in anonymised, aggregated form only (e.g., “X searches used the Rashi filter in May 2026”). Cannot be tied to any individual.
User Controls
- Opt-out / disconnect — Users can stop using the App at any time by removing the connector from ChatGPT via ChatGPT’s app/connector management UI. Since no account is created on NameEasy by using the App, no account-deletion request is needed.
- Data access, export, deletion — Because the App does not store any user-identifying data, there is no personal data on NameEasy’s side associated with the ChatGPT user to access, export, or delete. If you have any questions about your data in relation to the App, contact us using the details below.
- Deeplink navigation — Tapping any “Open in NameEasy” link inside the App navigates to
nameeasy.in(or the NameEasy mobile app, via Universal Links / App Links).
Children’s Privacy
The NameEasy ChatGPT App is designed for expecting parents and adults discovering Indian baby names. It is not directed at children under 13 and is suitable for general audiences including users aged 13–17, consistent with ChatGPT’s audience requirements.
NameEasy does not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13 through the ChatGPT App. The App does not collect personal information from any user, as described above. If you believe a child under 13 has somehow provided personal information through the App, please contact us at the address below and we will take prompt action.
Changes to This Policy
NameEasy may update this policy from time to time to reflect changes to the App, applicable laws, or operational practices. When we do, we will publish the updated version on this page and update the “Last updated” date at the bottom. Material changes will be reflected in the App’s listing on the OpenAI directory at the next submission cycle.
